BSA TROOP 520 An Introduction To
“The Eagle Trail”
Troop 520 is
a boy-run Boy Scout Troop
("boy-run"
means that the adult scout leaders train and encourage the boys to take
leadership positions within the troop).
Troop 520's focus on camping and instruction provide a fun environment that
promotes learning skills and attitudes that will be useful to you throughout
your life.
Today’s scouting program offers so much to today's youth. If your son (between
the ages of 11 and 17) has been involved in Scouting all along or if you're
interested in what Scouting has to offer, come check us out and see why we think
Troop 520 is the place for you to be for Scouting excitement and adventure,
while learning the skills necessary to navigate

to Boy Scouting's most prestigious rank-"Eagle"!
MERIT BADGE TRAINING
Troop 520 is a learning troop offering 4-6 merit badge classes every month, to
provide your son the opportunity to grow in a number of different areas, while
on
his
"Eagle Trail"
quest. Troop 520 has 36+ leaders certified to teach 105 Merit badges, including
ALL of the Eagle required Merit badges he will need to achieve his
rank of
Eagle Scout.
CAMPING AND HIGH ADVENTURE Troop 520 is a High Adventure troop with monthly campouts and at least one High Adventure scheduled over the course of a year. Troop 520's most recent High Adventure was in June 2009, when the Troop visited the Boundary Waters region, just west of Lake Superior. Ask about our 2010. Webelos are invited to participate in some of our camping activities.
NOTE: Some high adventures require that a boy has reached a certain
age to participate. SPONSORSHIP
The First United Methodist Church of Cedar Hill
chartered Troop 520 over 60 years ago. In addition, the church allows us to meet
in their Family Life Center every Tuesday night at 7:00 PM. at 127 Roberts
Street, Cedar Hill, Texas 75104.

leadership of Troop 520 wants scouting to be a fun and memorable experience for
your son and your family. Our Troop is a High Adventure troop with a goal to
have fun, while sharing the experiences of learning and camping together. With a
